Risk & Remediation

Cybercrime is one of the fastest growing crimes in America and Network People has developed a way to protect your critical business data from that crime.  A great way to gain a sense of your organization’s vulnerability is to order a Risk Assessment which will help you determine the likelihood and impact of a security breach in your organization.

Remediation is the process of tightening and strengthening current administrative, technical and physical controls of to better secure information.  Call upon our team of highly trained (CISSP and SANS Certified) Systems engineers to help you secure your business data.

Risk Assessments and Remediation

The Risk Assessment determines the likelihood and impact of risk in your critical business data. It is a great way to get started in understanding the probability of a security breach in your organization. An Assessment involves studying and analyzing the strengths and vulnerabilities of information security including the technical, physical and administrative elements.
"Network People specializes in secure business computing and web development."

The Risk Assessment is conducted in 4 Parts:

  1. Data Asset Planning Interviews (with key people and users in the organization)
  2. 22 Point On-Site Security Inspection
  3. Technical Scan of Select Systems
  4. Executive Summary Presentation of Findings

Initial Planning Call

In preparation for the assessment we will conduct a planning phone call so that the process runs smoothly. During this call we will:

  • Determine who within the organization will be interviewed. (For most organizations 3-4
  • people are recommended including owner, manager, IT personnel and/or end user.)
  • Set up one-on-one interviews (20 min. each) with each person.
  • Review the "Authorization to Access Organizational Data."
  • Schedule the On-Site Security Inspection and Executive Summary Presentation.

What To Expect?

The amount of time needed to complete a Risk Assessment varies based on the specific needs and requirements of the organization. Once the authorization form has been completed, one of our technicians will begin a technical scan of your system. The amount of data collection needed varies based on the scope and size of the assessment. During this time the On-Site Inspection is normally conducted. In most cases, we attempt to schedule the one-on-one interviews in the morning and the
Executive Summary Presentation in the afternoon of the same day. At the conclusion of the presentation you will receive a copy of the Executive Summary of Findings. This is a useful tool for identifying urgent and non-urgent needs for remediation and strategic planning for your organization.
